James started work straight after college aged 18 in 1999. He qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2001, having worked in both industry and general practice during this period. He later selected general practice as his preferred career path, James built up comprehensive experience within regional UK general practice firms over a 10-year period. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) in 2008. James’s experience includes audit across a broad spectrum of business sectors, including large group companies. He has also worked with owner-managed companies, partnerships, trusts and sole traders, delivering accounting, business taxation and personal taxation services.

James moved to Guernsey in 2011 with a ‘big four’ firm, auditing within the financial services sector. He joined Perkins in 2012 and has worked with many of the firm’s local and international clients, expanding his knowledge of trust and corporate services, Guernsey taxation and fiduciary client work as a whole. He has also continued to build on his audit experience in the financial services sector. James was appointed Partner/Director in April 2015 and now has a broad portfolio of both Guernsey and international clients. In 2020 he qualified as a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP).

Outside of work James is married and is a keen cricketer and plays for a Guernsey team. Other sporting interests include football, golf, as well as walking and travelling.
